How I’m Creating My Modern Country Luxe Style

I’m all set to move into my new home deep in the Devon countryside next month. The best thing about my new house is the family room which will be in modern country luxe style. It’s a large open plan room which includes the kitchen, dining area overlooking the garden and sitting area.

We will need a new dining table for sure. Our old house in Cornwall was very scandi in style. With this house I am opting for a more understated modern luxe style. I’m looking to leading luxury furniture retailer Juliettes Interiors for luxury interior design inspiration for this room.

Here’s a quick idea of the floorplan – from this you’ll see the dining table will be a statement piece as it’s very central in the heart of the room.

Customising Your Furniture

Juliettes Interiors stock such an enormous range of furniture that you’re sure to find the perfect look. If you like the look of a piece but it’s not quite right don’t worry.

You can change things such as the fabric of the chair for instance. You can make any items custom to your requirements at Juliettes.

If you see something you like but don’t like say the colour, or finish you can change it. Maybe the bar stools in velvet were something you wanted in leather, Juliettes can change this especially for you. You can also change the size of items so they fit into your interior perfectly.

Finishes for the Family Room

My new kitchen on the left is a shaker style kitchen in stone colour. It has white marble style quartz counters. Flooring is a wood style plank tile throughout. In future when I decorate I will use Dulux Colour of the Year 2021 in “Brave Ground”.

I’ll use curtains and roman blinds to soften the room and add more pattern and texture.

Luxe Furniture & Styling

The dining chairs and bar chairs from Juliettes are wonderful in mink velvet adding a rich sumptuous look. The modern style dining table features herringbone wood in a black oak giving the room a beautiful feature texture to this central piece. The legs pick up with the gold finish.

The current peninsula has a book case – I’m intending to change it to a breakfast bar where I can have 3 bar stools.

A beautiful hurricane candle holder on the mood board picks up a country twist to the whole room – it would look great on the centre of the table as we go into autumn and winter.

Glamorous Lighting

The lighting I’ve selected from Juliettes is drop glass feature lighting over the table and a very luxurious chandelier over the island where there is less natural light.

Here’s the round up of the mood board for my family dining room:

  1. Black Oak and Gold Dining Table Set from the Showhome Collection – Juliettes Interiors
  2. Italian Designer Pendant Light Juliettes Interiors
  3. Oval Burnished Gold Contemporary Chandelier with Amber Pendants Juliettes Interiors
  4. Hikari Fabric by Scion in Charcoal for curtains and blinds
  5. Dulux Colour of the Year 2021 “Brave Ground”
  6. Modern Bar Stool in “Mink” Velvet by Juliettes Interiors
  7. Gold Antler Effect Hurricane Lamp by Juliettes Interiors
  8. Johnsons Floor Tiles Kielder Range in “Autumn Dawn”
