Expectations grow as the years go by and holiday makers want their holiday homes to be welcoming, cosy in winter, light and airy in summer, decluttered and calming. An interior needs personality and should fit with the architecture and its surroundings, giving it a context, a meaning and an authenticity. You want to avoid to much of a “theme” and you should appeal to the target profile of your ideal customer.
I worked with 5 star Retallack Resort in Cornwall to refurbish a range of their holiday lodges from 2 bed to 4 bed and the results spoke for themselves to the owners.
By carrying out a light refurbishment you can increase your booking rates both in frequency and in the rates you charge as your new interiors entice more holiday goers. You should also think about offsetting the costs against your tax bill to make it cost effective, ask your accountant for details.
